Carvery

The year of the dog (2006) is coming to an end. My Section Head, Ann Chee has invited all the supervisors under PPC unit to come for the 2006 Year End Lunch at Carvery. A total of 16 office colleagues attended the lunch.

I’ve been there a couple of times before the previous chef resigned. This time, I will get the chance to try out the buffet lunch set.

Buffet lunch normally cost RM30++, buffet dinner cost RM40++. You have the choice to go for ala-carte or the salad.

What "Carvery" means:-

A carvery is a restaurant or buffet where meat is freshly sliced to order for customers, sometimes offering unlimited servings for a fixed price. The term is most commonly used in the United Kingdom.

Carveries are often found in pubs, and are particularly commonly held at weekends, when they offer traditional Sunday Roasts to a potentially very large number of people. The meat is usually accompanied by a choice of potatoes (generally at least boiled, mashed and roasted) and other vegetables (commonly including carrots, cauliflower and other traditional British vegetables), with gravy and a sauce considered a traditional accompaniment to the various meats (for example, mint sauce to accompany roast lamb, apple sauce to accompany roast pork and so on).

Don't worry, they served HALAL food.

Here's some pics that I've managed to take.

This is the Carvery entrance. The place was fully booked that afternoon.

While waiting for the meat to arrive. Managed to snap this photo. From left, Wendy, Ann Chee and Nadia.

Another group sitting on the other table. Also hungry for the meat.

Here comes the most exciting part. Drums Rolling!!!
The Buffet Lunch.

Carvery Bread

Carvery Butter

Carvery served their exclusive bread and butter once you go for buffet. Even the newcomers praised the excuisite bread and butter. :)

This is my appetizer that I've took while waiting for the main course.
Consists of fried potatoes, green beans, spaghetti, baby kailan and baby carrots. I also tried the vegetables soup. It was deliciously creamy.

This is the first meat that they served. Roasted lamb leg. Direct from the kitchen, they're sliced and served right in front of the customer. You can still see the oil dripping from the meat as they're being cut. Wish I can ask for the whole thing on my plate. :)

Next set of meat are BBQ chicken wing, roasted beef
and beef steak.

The meat above consists of chicken sausage, roasted beef, roasted chicken. Salmon with lemon slice topped with olive oil. You can ask for more if you're still hungry. They will gladly serve the meat upon request.

Before leaving, we ordered a cup of coffee. It comes with a small cookies.

The food quality still maintains to the true Carvery taste that I've had tasted before although the chef have changed. Therefore you will not regret to try out Carvery anytime.
